WE ARE HAVING DEPARTMENT ADDED TO US

by Dr Sanjeev Parmar

Babies stay in their mother's room if their delivery is uncomplicated and the newborn is stable during the immediate recovery period after birth.Family members should not visit until at least two hours after the baby is born. Parents need this private time to bond with their baby.

We suggest that only close family members visit for limited periods during your stay in the Hospital. You will need time to rest and learn to care for your new baby. You will be going home soon and it may be more comfortable to receive visitors there.

Anyone with a fever, cold, sore throat or other symptoms of an infectious disease should not visit, nor should you have visitors who may have been exposed to a communicable disease such as chicken pox. Also, please ask your visitors to wash their hands before holding your baby.

"Partners: 24 hours a day
Family and friends are welcome to visit from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm & 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm
We have "Quiet Time" hours from 2:00 to 4:00 pm every day when visitors are not permitted."

The maternity unit has created a break in visiting hours called "Quiet Time".Visitors are asked to come before or after these hours. The only interruptions at the bedside during this time are for essential patient care.

To assure your newborn's safety and security, birth identification bands will be placed on you and your infant immediately after birth. Never leave your baby unattended. Never let anyone take your baby away from your room unless they are wearing a hospital ID.
